Responsibilities
- Manage projects from conception to completion, overseeing preliminary/conceptual design, detailed design, scheduling, tendering, construction, and post construction phases. Provide high-level engineering input for Area Structure Plans, Neighborhood Structure Plans, Rezoning, and Subdivision Plans. Manage land development contracts, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of serviced land
- Coordinate with builders, agencies, and stakeholders to determine project requirements, obtain permits, and secure approvals. Administer tender processes, including evaluation, award, and administration of various contracts.
- Conduct site visits and act as the company’s representative with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that project and builder needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with developing servicing schedule to support house construction commencement and commitments to home closing dates;
- Assists with the management of appropriate records of approvals, engineering and landscaping plans, grading plans, permits, letters of credits, etc. for projects;
- Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of land development processes, including site grading, servicing, utilities, roadways, lot design, and storm water management.
- Minimum 5 years of related land development experience.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Civil Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist with Value Engineering exercises to ensure projects are delivered as efficiently as possible without compromising quality.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the City of Edmonton and/or surrounding municipalities.
- PMP Certification.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with City of Edmonton Design and Construction Standards.
